Mad Rad – Portland from tyler soverns on Vimeo.Tonight, the most troublesome trio in local hip-hop (that’s Mad Rad if you haven’t been following the news) are playing a show at Nectar that sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Earlier in the evening P Smoov will be performing in his other group, Fresh Espresso at the High Dive around 11 o’clock and then he’s gotta hustle over to Nectar to rock with Mad Rad around midnight. You can read more about those shows on this site. The Fresh Espresso show, which also features They Live!, Gran Rapids, and The Productionists, starts at 9 p.m. and tickets admission is $8. The Mad Rad gig with the Staxx Brothers at Nectar costs $10. Plan accordingly. If you’re not familiar with Mad Rad and why they’re such a talked about crew, check out the video above of them wildin’ out in Portland. Even though the video is several months old, it’s still timely and captures the group fairly well.
