Phantogram’s Eyelid Movies, which Barsuk released in February, is so far one of my top three records of 2010. It’s a diverse collection of incredibly smooth and sexy synth-driven songs. Today the duo premiered the record’s first music video for “Mouthful of Diamonds.” There’s not much action in this video, but I’m still digging it just because the lighting and shadows look fantastic and go well with the haunting quality of the tune, especially the squeaky synth that pervades throughout. Watch as Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter ignore each other throughout the clip – Barthel’s vocals just slither over you, and she looks gorgeous.
