Renee McMahonNatalie Portman’s Shaved Head performed at Bumbershoot on Saturday, Sept. 5. Follow all our festival coverage at Bumbershoot.SeattleWeekly.comWhat: Bumbershoot, the whole thingWhen: Saturday AfternoonWhere: EverywhereThat is to say the lines are short, it’s easy to get a beer, the crowds are thin, and the must-sees are at a minimum. For many Bumbershoot vets, the now-retired Friday was a favorite, known for its easy maneuverability and discovery (when else would I see Katy Perry (no surprises, a little camel toe), five minutes of Past Lives (nice), and Love Vs. Diamond (meh) in the same day). With fewer acts anchoring my schedule this year than in recent memory, the whole weekend is fixing to feel like one of those easy Fridays from the late ’90s. And that ain’t a complaint.
