Calling all wannabe stars! Simon Cowell is coming to Seattle.American Idol’s ratings are steady, but they’re not nearly as impressive as those of previous seasons. Blame it on the departure of Simon Cowell, the British music executive whose snarky commentary provided viewers a source of endless amusement and outrage. The sharp-tongued judge has since taken on a bigger and better project, launching the American installment of his UK hit series The X Factor, a competition that gives both solo artists and groups age 12 and over the chance to win a $5 million recording contract with Synco/Sony Music. On Wednesday, April 20, Cowell and company come to KeyArena to scout talent. The line is sure to be painfully long, so grab a waterproof jacket, pack a lunch (maybe even dinner), and get ready to be discovered . . . or, at the very least, have Cowell shout at you for wasting his and your time so that you can finally move on to the next phase of your life.
