A SurveyUSA Poll out last week found that only 35 percent of those asked approve of the job Ron Sims is doing as King County Executive– with 50 percent saying they disapprove of his performance. The number gets slightly worse when citizens were asked about the budget: 33 percent approve of Sims’ handing of it; 55 percent responded in the negative. And things don’t look any better when it comes to county services: with 57 percent disapproving of Sims’ handling of this part of his job, compared with a 29-percent approval rate. Sims’ highest marks were of his handling of county parks with 44 percent responding in the affirmative and 42 percent saying they disapprove. However, 70 percent of those polled said that the quality of life is getting worse in King County– while only 22 percent reported that it’s getting better. Data for the poll was collected between Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
