Here’s official proof that at least one new local job has been created by the $787 billion (or so) federal stimulus package – a.k.a. the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. King County Chair Dow Constantine is pushing an ordinance that will create the new position of “Recovery Act Coordinator” in the Executive’s office. In the business world, such a position would fall under the role of “middle management”. And as we all know, in any company, you can never really have too many middle management types. The job of the Recovery Act Coordinator is to act as a “liaison between County departments and the County’s federal government consultant”.In other words, the new middle management employee is supposed to act as a go-between for current middle management types.
