21st Century DemocracyThe Los Angeles Times has run an editorial about the proposed California Constitutional convention. I write about my experience with the proposal here. The LA Times endorses the effort and in the editorial lays out the road map for such an undertaking. It seems like California has reached an end-game and is looking to reinvent itself. But that’s always been the promise of California. Hopefully, the Golden State will emerge from the process as an example of something new, attractive and happening. The effort is going to be in the hands of the people and the LA Times says, “…plans for a convention should go forward to give lawmakers some sense of urgency, and to allow Californians to take charge of their own destiny should their representatives, once again, fall short.”
