Family to family: Seattle HVAC + electrical team puts client education first

Brothers put lessons learned at the family table to good use for Western Washington homeowners
Eli, Robert and Sergey Nikolin grew up in a big Western Washington family, where honesty, mutual respect and the value of hard work were instilled from an early age. It’s why, after years in the heating and cooling industry, the brothers founded Product Air & Heating in 2017 – they wanted to do things in a better way, without gimmicks or high-pressure tactics.
As a local, family-run company serving clients from Seattle to Sedro Woolley, their focus is on education and exceptional service, explains Sergey.
“We’re focused on creating lasting relationships, where our trusted technicians come into your home, like a brother would, and ask questions to determine what you really need, so we can build a tailored system that suits your family and your home.”
Whether it’s installing a heat pump or new furnace, or undertaking an electrical project like an EV charger installation or panel upgrade, their philosophy remains the same. “It really comes back to how we were raised. We’re very transparent – yes, we’re a business, but our goal is to help you choose the right product for your family. There’s no push, there’s education, so no matter what questions you have, we’ll take the time to answer them,” Sergey says, noting their many five-star Google reviews often tell the story best.
What homeowners can expect
Free in-home consultations typically last about two hours, allowing time to fully understand the clients’ goals, assess what’s achievable for their home, and to answer any questions, Sergey says.
“For us, the most important thing is to hear what they’re trying to achieve. We’re not loyal to a particular brand of equipment, we’re loyal to the goals of the customer.”
Step 1 is often a comfort survey, to help determine what’s most important to the homeowner – it could be in-home air quality, especially if someone has asthma or allergies for example. Others might be focused on energy savings from replacing an inefficient older system, or on year-round comfort – especially as summers grow warmer.
Additional considerations include the design of the home – are there existing air ducts, for example, or is a ductless system needed. Discussion about budget, financing options, and availability of rebates will help further narrow down the right option. Where rebates are available, “we’re able to guide them through that process,” Sergey says.
“Then one of our last questions is, ‘What is most important to you when working with a contractor?’ We feel two of our strengths are communication and education, but it’s important that customers feel confident in their choices. We focus on education so much that if they decide to go with someone else, that’s totally fine.”
Recognizing that heating and cooling systems are an investment, Product Air Heating & Cooling offers a five-year labour warranty in addition to the full manufacturer’s warranty on all the products they install. They can undertake recommended servicing to ensure the system continues operating at its best for years to come, and if any issues arise, they respond quickly.
