Not that it was unexpected in what has become perhaps America’s slimiest state election campaign, but 31st District State Senator Pam Roach has launched another mudball, a re-election mailer that appears to depict her fellow Republican opponent Matt Richardson as leering through a playground fence at little girls, with the caption: “He pled guilty to sexually molesting a young girl…now he’s running for State Senate.” Richardson, 44, did plead guilty in 1993 to a misdemeanor sex crime. But it was committed in 1982 when he was a teenager – he and his cousin were “playing doctor,” he says. He has now filed a complaint with the state Public Disclosure Commission saying the mailer (below) defames him.
