Prosecutor Dan Satterberg today filed charges in Superior Court against Michael and Katie Lambard for fleecing Margaret Martin, a woman they called ‘grandma’. The couple is charged with 6 counts of first-degree theft, which includes any money taken illegally from Martin’s account in excess of $1,500. According to the charging documents, the six first-degree felony charges total $155,780.99 between March and May 2008.The couple also faces 27 second-degree theft charges for taking money in increments between $250 and $1,500. Those charges–also felonious–total $17,300 between July 2007 and February 2008. Neither of the Lambards has a prior criminal history in this state, according to court records. Unless convictions elsewhere surface, they face potential jail time of approximately 3 months for each first degree charge under state sentencing guidelines and 2 months for the second degree counts if convicted.The Lambards are schedule to make their first appearance in Superior Court to enter a plea on Jan. 22.
