Early this morning, about 6:30 a.m., Seattle Police responded to an assault call at 26th Avenue and East Jefferson Street. There they found a yet-unidentified man with a large head wound, barely alive. That man died a short time later at Harborview Hospital.Details are very few at this point. Police told Central District News that the call police responded to was an assault inside a vehicle. The victim is described only as being in his 30s, and the wound is apparently not from a bullet, but from a beating. The incident happened very close to Garfield High School, but SPD is saying there is no connection to the school and that classes will continue as planned today.Whoever is responsible for the homicide is, at this point, nowhere to be found. We’ll update this post with new details as they emerge.Follow The Daily Weekly on Facebook and Twitter.
