So long Starfucker. Hello, Pyramid. Yep, they really did it. After announcing a contest for fans to submit new band name suggestions last month, Starfucker announced today that they will be known from this point forward as PYRAMID. (I’m not being a drama queen, the name really is in all caps.) Admittedly, it doesn’t have quite the same ring to it that Starfucker did. But you know what? I don’t care. I’m sick of hearing music snobs bitch and moan (and blog) that Portland’s electronic band is “selling out.” Frontman Josh Hodges had plenty of legitimate reasons for wanting to change the band’s name. Now that they’ve gone through with it, maybe Starfucker, er, PYRAMID, will finally be able to make some good money for their damn good music. Best of luck to ’em.
