We’re used to Democrats having a supermajority in Washington state; it looks like the same will soon hold true in DC. Arlen Specter is switching parties, which, along with the seating of Al Franken, will give the Democrats a filibuster proof 60-member Senate majority. This means the Democrats may not need to use “reconciliation” to get their health care plans through. Laughing at Karl Rove for his “permanent Republican majority” conceit never gets old.
