Vera Project Benefit with New Luck Toy, the Pranks, the Get Off

What would you do if you hit the lottery? Jokes about filling up the gas tank aside, I think most reasonable human beings would give something to charity. ‘Tis better to give than receive after all, and it must be an amazing feeling to hand a worthy someone a million sweet smackers. When, like almost everyone I know, you’re broke, giving a homeless guy spare change for beer makes you feel like mutha-F’n Oprah, which is why a benefit show is such a win-win. You get to see a show, the bands get to feel good about giving and Vera gets your much needed cash. So…back to my lotto dreams. Vera would of course be on my list, but KEXP would get my first million dollars with one (likely impossible) stipulation: that they could not, under any circumstances, play Modest Mouse for one year. Funhouse, 206 Fifth Ave. N., 374-8400. 9:30 p.m., $5.
