Seattle Weekly’s “Best New Band,” Week of Wonders just released a new video, and there is a lot of butt in it.
The clip for “All You Can’t Express With Words” follows around a lady in cat eye makeup as she sits in a forest, inexplicably gets in the back of a car, takes a bath, gets painted black, and then wanders back into the forest. Also, the lady isn’t wearing any clothes.
I’m very glad that actress Taylor McCann survived the naked body painting, I had flashbacks to James Bond finding a golden Jill Masterson dead from “asphyxiation of the skin,” which according to brief research isn’t really something that can medically happen.
Phew.
The song itself is a catchy Carribean ditty, full of shimmering guitar chords, skittering drumbeats, and reverb soaked everything. Week of Wonders calls it Tropical Punk, a more than fitting name for the revved up island rockers they crank out. Starting on Sept 16, Week of Wonders will start an absolutely insane tour that has them playing nearly everyday for the next two and a half months. Let’s hope whatever peaceful island paradise lead man Leif Anders has in his head will keep him sane during the marathon it looks like he’ll be running across the county.
