A group of about twenty working class protesters used Madison Avenue as their venue to speak out against Wall Street Friday afternoon. Chanting “Help Main Street, not Wall Street,” the crowd marched in construction boots, hard hats and soiled gloves in support of what they call “the mainstream guy.”Their beef? Wall Street subsidies. According to the group, nearly $40 billion in taxpayer money goes to large hedge funds each day. When hedge funds go bankrupt, it’s the taxpayers who pay. Yet, according to Help Main Street Now, the administration continues to support big business.So, there you have it, people who don’t have to work on a Friday afternoon, sticking it to the man.
