The next installment of Hugo Houses Hugo Literary Series, which gathers writers from diverse fields to explore a given theme, includes infantryman/poet Brian Turner, who writes about his firsthand experiences in Iraq; This American Life contributor Jack Hitt; and Ellen Forney, cartoonist/storyteller supreme, whose work, recently collected in a volume titled I Love Led Zeppelin, is full of in-your-face strong women from Margaret Cho to Camille Paglia. Forney writes that her “Heroes” piece is “exciting and scary for me-my piece is more personal than any of the the autobiographical work Ive done so far. (Its also my first dip into material I intend to develop into a full-length book.)” Hip-hop duo Canary Sing also performs.
