Photographic Center Northwest Members’ Juried Exhibition

I may just be partial to photos that make me chuckle, but the bewildered man measuring the very frame he’s trapped within—this in Gary Finholt’s film strip Measuring Frame—is definitely one of my top picks from the Photographic Center Northwest Members’ Juried Exhibition (through Jan. 13). But there are certainly less whimsical subjects that also measure up to the competition, like the peaceful, rolling hills in Daniel Grant’s seductive Cypress Hill or the ghostly girl wearing pink and polka dots in Jenny Riffle’s Stella Swan. And while a juror will have the final say on who’s got the best shot, everyone’s a winner next week at the PCNW print swap (Fri. Dec. 12, 6-9 p.m., $25). Purchase a ticket, and bring some of your best framed prints. No lame family portraits or drunken party pictures allowed. Photographic Center Northwest, 900 12th Ave., 720-7222, www.pcnw.org. Free. 9 a.m.-9:30 p.m. JOSHUA LYNCH
