If classical music is to survive, goes one line of thought, it’ll have to appeal to the texting, blogging, Facebooking, Twittering, share-everything-about-myself-every-moment generation. Seattle Opera’s planning to make this work for them by finding someone to attend one of this summer’s cycles of Wagner’s Ring of the Nibelungs and host a ten-minute doc, made by local media/tech org Reel Grrls, about their experience. You need to be 18-30, comfortable on camera, and willing to commit to 18 aggregate hours of performances on August 9, 10, 12, and 14 plus backstage tours and chats with the cast and crew; the less opera experience you have, the better. You can audition in person May 15 or by submitting a short video. The top five videos will be posted on the SO Web site June 1, and the winner chosen by public vote. Full details here.
