It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it’s a fun read. The state Office of Financial Management did a survey (pdf) of what “recreational and cultural activities” Washingtonians like to do in their free time, then broke it down by region and county. Pierce County leads the state in zoos and fairs (perhaps because of the Point Defiance Zoo and the Puyallup Fair), King County in library visits, recreational sports participation, museum/gallery visits, arts performances attended, sporting events attended, and parks/historical site visits. One funny stat–Eastern Washington trails Western Washington by a statistically significant amount in every category except attending sporting events, despite the fact that there are way more sports teams on this side of the Cascades.
