With Ron Sims out and the election not until November, King County needs someone to fill in until then. Laura Onstot has been covering this exciting little brother to the big race, even handicapping the candidates. Unless things have changed, her money’s on former Seattle mayor Charles Royer and not acting exec. Kurt Triplett (who’s had some dog problems lately). A fancy Blue Ribbon Panel was supposed to decide on a set of potential replacements yesterday, and they narrowed the field to the aforementioned two.. Now it’s back to the Council to choose. The suspense continues…[This post has been corrected to clarify that the Panel was charged with recommending more than one potential replacement candidate.]
