This Saturday the Costume Society of America’s Western contingent will convene on the Maryhill Museum of Art for special curators’ tours of Maryhill’s collections of the “famed 1946 Théâtre de la Mode French fashion mannequins” and baskets in the Gallery of Native People. Though Maryhill will not be displaying the sort of costumes so in demand this month, Théâtre de la Mode was created to “support war relief” in the wake of WWII, and is a one-of-a-kind collection which has toured the globe. Also, the museum’s 6,000-acre grounds boast an actual-size replica of Stonehenge, which could be interpreted as a seasonably creepy sculpture, if guests find themselves searching for something a little more otherworldly following the tours.
