Howard Dean’s coming to town. If you’ll recall, the man who was undone by a howl in Iowa in early 2004 (he’s like the anti-Allen Ginsberg) was all the rage in Seattle in mid-2003, with his signs and stickers seemingly as ubiquitous as coffee cups. But in addition to being a former presidential candidate and DNC chair, he’s also a former doctor who just wrote a book on health care reform, aptly titled Howard Dean’s Prescription for Real Healthcare Reform, in which he calls out the private insurance industry and calls for a government-run option. He’ll be at Town Hall at 7 PM ($5 tickets at door or at Brown Paper Tickets). For a taste of what that might entail, read this and watch this. But probably don’t watch this.
