A new bakery opens for business in downtown Seattle today at 806 Pike Street. (Be sure to stop by for opening-day complimentary almond and coconut macaroons!) Wild Rye Cafe Bakery makes everything from scratch and in-house, including breads, pastries, soups, and sandwiches. Heading the efforts is chef Alex Shroff, previously the pastry chef at The Herbfarm Restaurant and pastry cook at Fairmont Olympic Hotel.
