Seattle lost the Sonics over a year ago, but filmmaker and sometime SW contributor Jason Reid isn’t ready to give up the fight. A couple weeks ago, Reid announced his documentary on the team’s move, Sonicsgate, and released a trailer. He ended up scoring some virtual ink from ESPN’s juggernaut NBA blog True Hoop. The next stop in Reid’s whirlwind media tour? Bellingham station KPUG’s sports radio show, The Zone. Appearing on the famous Angel of the Winds Casino Zone Phone, Reid recounted his courtroom staredowns with Clay Bennett (“He had to walk past me to go to the bathroom”) and laid out the no-holds-barred approach of his documentary (“If there’s people to blame, they’re gonna be called out in Sonicsgate.” If you like the Sonics, sports radio, or Reid, it’s certainly worth a listen.
