In today’s news, no restaurants closed (that we know of) so let’s move on to happier things…

The 20th annual Haul Ash Tour de Brew bike ride sponsored by Redhook Brewery is on Saturday May 16th beginning at 10 a.m. on the Burke-Gilman Trail. It’s a 42 mile jaunt that will commemorate the 35th anniversary of the 1980 Mt. St. Helens eruption. The mostly flat ride is perfect for folks that are in shape or even those with beer bellies. And here’s the good news – the ride concludes with a Post Pedal Party that includes hot food, music and plenty o’ beer for participants. Preregistration is $40, or you can register on the day of the event for $45. Participants may register online now or at Redhook Brewery’s Forecaster’s Pub in Woodinville, beginning February 28.

Next week brings newfound joy during happy hour at Bitter/Raw with the introduction of new specials from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. beginning on Monday, March 2nd. And who doesn’t need more happier hours in their lives? Charcuterie plates will be offered at $5 with $1.50 oysters and draft beer for $4. Or, you could check out the Chef’s Choice Crudo for $8 and get a nice surprise.

The Sunday dinner has long been a family tradition across much of the world. And Tavolata is doing their part to continue this fine custom by hosting their monthly series of feasts which continues on March 1st featuring food from the region of Tuscany. For $55 diners get a five-course family style meal including dishes such as: Fried Artichokes with pangrattato, lemon, and aioli, Cacciucco Stew of octopus, calamari, mussels, clams, and garlic and Char-Grilled T-Bone Steaks with olive oil, flaky salt, and cracked pepper. Reservations are essential and can be made by calling the restaurant at 206.838.8008.
