2. Monsoon and Monsoon East have announced the addition of $6 brunch cocktails starting on April 19. Options include classic mimosas; the “Bloody Alternative,” a creation involving kummel (a caraway liqueur,) and spicy reduced pho broth; and “Life in the Afternoon,” with gin, Cocchi Americano Rosa, lime, and Prosecco.
3. Redhook is hosting a pun-laden event on the eve of 4/20. On April 19, head to the Woodinville brewery for “Pack the Bowl,” a celebration of Redhook’s collaboration with Hilliard’s on their “Joint Effort Hemp Ale.” The event will include music, a giant slide, life-size beer pong tournaments, and food trucks like Dante’s Inferno Dogs, My Sweet Lil Cakes, and Grilled Cheese Wizards. Admission is free.
4. NPR has a story about a cafe in Burlington, VT that disconnected its WiFi and banned the use of laptops, iPods, and other devices with screens. Surprisingly, the concept has been met with much success and sales are up.
