The first annual Whoopie Pie Contest took place today at Oddfellows Cafe on Capitol Hill. Amateur and professional bakers alike showed off their delightful confections – ranging from the traditional chocolate cake sandwich with marshmallow cream (or butter cream, depending on your standard of tradition) center to lime-poppy seed with blackberry filling.
