The most dynamic item in the park was the the high-pressure nerf-ball-launching air canon. This canon was originally designed to launch golf balls, but was toned down a bit for safety reasons. Guests were able to launch plush balls into the air, aiming for buckets.
The Seattle Art Museum kicked off the summer with an evening benefit event at the Olympic Sculpture Park on Friday. Guests entered promptly at 8PM and were greeted with live music by Hey Marseilles, The Paperboys, Curtains For You, and The Lumineers. Also in the park was free food from DanteaE™s Inferno Dogs, Maximus/Minimus, Molly Moon Ice Cream, Skillet, Street Treats, Veraci Pizza, and Northwest beer and wine. SAM regularly hosts benefit events and, with a recommended donation, guests are able to reap the benefits.Photos (and notes!) by Chris Hunt.Published on June 20, 2011
