Dog-lovers young and old gathered on Saturday to celebrate the often misunderstood pit bull breed. Held at Riverdog Canine Coaching in Issaquah, the event aimed to alleviate negative stigmas typically associated with pit bulls. Friendly dog vs. dog competitions were held throughout the day, hot dog stands raised funds for the canines, and the event ended with a parade of adoptable pit bulls and pit bull mixes, some of which donned tutus for the special occasion.Photos by Chona Kasinger.Published on August 27, 2012
