Dave Navarro is the sexiest man in rock 'n roll that I've come across in a long time. And I'll be dammed if I feel insecure about writing that.
Jane's Addiction totally killed last night and I'm glad I got to see it all live.
At one point, people must have been throwing things at Farrell from the stage and he says, in between swigs of champagne straight out of the bottle, If you're gonna throw anything at me, it better be drugs. I don't want booze, or even panties. You guys been out here for a few days, so no panties...but I will take marijuana, and some smaller things.
Of TV On the Radio, Cunningham said: TV on the Radio seem like the perfect example of a group who sound better on CD than audiences could ever expect to live. The moods and vibe they create on their albums doesn't seem like it would even remotely work at a festival or amphitheater aE” but the hour-long set they just put on here at Sasquatch was the exact opposite of what I expected. Thousands of people were dancing, pumping their fists, and swaying to every word lead singer Tunde Adebimpe belted out from the main stage just as the sun was beginning to descend.
A fellow black rock critic from Mojo and I were standing together watching all of this when he leans in and says: We're taking over indie rock too!
I can honestly say that they're probably some of the least likely indie rock stars in the history of the genre.
On Mad Rad, Cunningham said: With Mad Rad playing the Yeti stage today at noon, the pressure was on them to deliver a high quality show despite the fact that not nearly enough people would be on hand to watch it.
They hit the crowd of a couple of hundred onlookers with jams like Glitzerland, Crack the Blunt, and a new song, Electric Jesus which they said they'd never played before in public. Folks seemed to love their high energy songs a lot, but not respond too well to the new jam.
