The names of Malice and Mario Sweet might not be familiar, but if you know The Physics, you probably already know the husband-and-wife pair–both often grace the stage with the trio. Mario dropped the broad survey Seattle’s Best comp back in July; Malice is the voice of hooks like “Ready for We.”

“Speed of Light,” the lead on the couple’s Happy Two Year EP due out later this month, is a captivating coupling of rhythm and melody–the double-timed handclaps and cymbal crashes make for a perfectly acceptable 20-second lead-in, and the precious vocal harmony essentially acts as the song’s strongest instrumentation.
