The relationship between Washington Secretary of State Sam Reed and Dino Rossi and his Republican supporters was, um, testy, after Reed certified the 2004 gubernatorial election, giving the state’s highest office to Christine Gregoire with TK votes. The GOP tried to have him recalled, twice. AND WHAT. But apparently the risk of restoking that ire hasn’t dissuaded Reed from releasing a book on the 2004 race called “An Election for the Ages” just as Rossi is trying to overcome his image as a two-time loser in his contest against incumbent Patty Murray for the U.S. Senate.
