It looks like he’s dreaming of his own butchering. Creepy…There’s just something

It looks like he’s dreaming of his own butchering. Creepy…There’s just something about a spring day that makes gastronauts think of pork.I mean, there’s something about a winter day that does the same thing. Something about a summer day or a nice, crisp autumn afternoon. And sometimes it’s just a Tuesday that does it. But still, spring is when a young chef’s fancy most often turns to thought of pig and, apparently, this was the week that got lots of the boys in white (and plenty of other folks, too) thinking in that direction.First, there was the half-announcement of the Joule Urban BBQ series that we talked about yesterday. And now we’ve got word that Fresh Bistro (4725 42nd Ave. S.W., from the folks behind Herban Feast Catering) is getting in on the game with a blow-out Mexican-themed pig roast that’ll see chef Dalis Chea putting a whole, ancho-rubbed pig over the heat and roasting it for all comers. The party will be happening on Tuesday, May 25 at Fresh Bistro from 7pm ’til 9pm. And the price of entry? Just $12 for all that pig, sides of rice, beans, tortillas and everything. Nice.So that’s two things pork-ish this week. And like they say in the newspaper business, three makes a trend. Anyone got info on another porkerific event happening in the next week or so? Let us know in the comments section below.
