I realize the season’s only three games old and Seneca Wallace has taken over half the Seahawks’ snaps, but am I the only one who’s been totally underwhelmed by T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s performance thus far, a level of underachievement made all the more galling by his failure to dominate the Bears like he’d predicted? Thus far, “Hooj” has 14 catches for 145 yards and zero touchdowns. Those aren’t bad numbers, and Hooj has always been more of a possession receiver–but they’re not $8 million per year numbers either. So why the slow start? As for yesterday’s loss, in which he had 4 catches for 35 yards, Hooj told the Chicago Tribune: “I was open all game. They just didn’t throw me the ball.” As if Hooj’s mediocre numbers weren’t enough, seems as though Seattle’s prize free agent pickup might have a Keyshawnesqe arsenal of excuses in his duffel bag. Here’s hoping Hooj has a breakout game against the Colts Sunday, lest the crowd’s cries of “Hooj” will turn to boos.
