As I mentioned a few weeks ago, sunn O)))’s upcoming two-night stand at Neumo’s should be a pretty awe-inspiring event. Aside from the sheer awesomeness of having drone metal’s standard bearers in our fair city two nights in a row, the support they chose for each night is well-worth showing up early for. Wednesday’s show is also the Accused’s record release show and will feature additional sets from Trap Them and Black Breath. Thursday is the night I’m definitely not going to miss: the openers are Earth, Eagle Twin and Pelican. Incidentally, Pelican will be playing material from their forthcoming album, What We All Come To Need, which has serendipitous ties to local artists. Aaron Turner of Isis and Ben Verellen of Helms Alee are both on the record. Don’t know if they are going to be asked to join the live show, but I’m looking into it and will post an update when I find out more…
