The Seattle Police Department reports that a man was found shot to death in “The Jungle,” the homeless encampment beneath I-5, next to the Industrial District. Someone notified a parking enforcement officer who was working the 1700 block of Airport Way S. that a man had been shot. Seattle Fire Department medics attempted to revive him–the SPD release describes him as “an unidentified transient male” with “a single gunshot wound to the torso”–but could not. While others in the encampment reported hearing gunshots and even seeing an indistinct figure fleeing, nobody could provide a description of the suspect.
