MotivatedPhotos.comLast week, it was a throwdown at Ivar’s Acres of Clams, where tunnel option supporters assembled media to set the record straight on the costs and benefits of the project. (And where Ivar wore a bow tie.) Today, their opponents announced a website, Tunnel Facts, to set the record straight on the costs and benefits of the project. Tagline: Deep-boring holes in bad ideas.Who are these tunnel opponents? Among them is Mike McGinn campaign manager volunteers Gary Manca and Skye Schell. It’s no surprise to see McGinn’s people in on the project. After all, McGinn has staked his candidacy on his opposition to the project and his ability to stop it. But also on the list is Ben Schiendelman of Seattle Transit Blog, who has a wide audience of wonky transit-nuts and also worked on last fall’s Sound Transit campaign. Schiendelman, though, is a Greg Nickels supporter. Tough times for the Double-M when the people who agree with him on his signature issue don’t endorse his candidacy.
