Rick Springfield played a live microset for a room of about 40 today at the Beacon Hill headquarters of Amazon.com, where he was promoting his new children’s album, My Precious Little One. My brother Tim somehow landed a gig as Springfield’s onsite roadie, thus furthering the Seely family’s interaction with the former General Hospital heartthrob. I interviewed him several years back in advance of a St. Louis show at the Pageant, which is the closest I’ve come to attending a male strip joint. Springfield worked the supermajority middle-aged female crowd into a hot and horny lather, singing on tables, shedding his shirt, and letting the ladies get their paws all up on him. At Amazon, Springfield played four songs, including “Jesse’s Girl”, reports my brother.Pictured here is, of course, Springfield, flanked by Tim and his domestic partner. It’s highly unlikely that Springfield will bust out tracks like “Sleepy Children” and “Don’t Keep the Sandman Waiting” at his adult gig at the EQC tonight, but you never know.
