Of Manitowoc Wisconsin, that is. Last week, 22-year-old grocery store clerk/college student Justin Nickels beat out 39-year-old MIT-grad/civil engineer Dave Soeldner for the role of Manitowoc’s top dog. His margin of victory was just 115 votes (out of nearly 10,000 cast). Both Nickels and Soeldner were already serving as alderpersons.

Mayor Greg spokesperson Alex Fryer confirmed via e-mail that the two aren’t related and declined to say whether the elder has any Nickels-to-Nickels advice for younger. (Thanks, Dan.)
