The U-Village/Chow Foods eatery Atlas Foods is hosting a clam-eating contest tomorrow at 3 p.m. in front of the restaurant. Local rocker/cartologist Benjamin Rainbow (yes, that’s actually his surname) is going to be SW’s official entrant, and will be vying for $100 cash prize against contestants with asses far fatter than his. SW art director Jane Sherman, who rooms with Rainbow in a private Georgetown Heights chateau, says Rainbow scarfed down an unspeakable amount of wings last night at Hooter’s. He was so focused on his gastronomical mission that he didn’t ogle a single nip. That’s why Jane loves him, and so do we. The contest is free and open to the public (although the number of entrants will be capped), so if you get there on an empty stomach, sign right on up.UPDATE 8/25: Our Ben did not make the finals, though he did make it onto YouTube.
