The Sub Pop Singles Club is getting all kinds of love these

The Sub Pop Singles Club is getting all kinds of love these days. First, it was announced that the little label that could (and did) will be doing another limited run of the Singles Club for $75 that will keep you stocked with a new 7″ every month for the next year. Then, Pitchfork’s Marc Masters publishes his neat little history, appreciation, analysis of the Singles Club and what it meant to people. Then…as our own Hannah Levin tells me, much of the SIngles Club will be dusted off and given good lovin’ at Tigertail this coming Thursday from 10 p.m. until close. Her man JJ has spent the last few months filling in the gaps in his Singles Club 7″ collection and he’ll be DJing nothing but those little nuggets. So, we can expect to hear the usual grungy suspects (TAD, Nirvana…you heard of those guys before?), but more importantly, he’ll give special attention to the unknowns of the group. Lubricated Goat. Dwarves. Dickless. Unrest. Pain Teens. Lou Barlow. Hell, maybe even some White Stripes. Personally (and I don’t know if he even has these), I’d be down for some Quadrajets, and maybe even that Jon Spencer Christmas single. And tell me if I’m wrong, but didn’t The Fuckers record a 7″ for the Singles Club? Chad Quierolo, if you’re reading this, lemme know if I’m mistaken…
