Granted we find the WTF factor pretty high for J-Rock, a genre that appears to consist solely of guys with impeccable eyeliner singing nonsensical English lyrics. But the JROCK Invades America tour front-runners arent just wannabe punk rockers. DespairsRay and the Underneath play music representative of Japans emerging underground culture. Hear that pummeling bass and earsplitting shrieking? Thats the sound of a revolution being launched against social conformity. These guys are all about self-expression, damn it, and theyll all look the same while fighting for it, too.
