I’m not sure I’d call it an “institution,” but it’ll be sad to see Choy’s Chinese Cuisine go after 14 years at Queen Anne and Mercer. I stopped in this afternoon, its last day, for what was, very rough guess, my 150th visit. Manager David Choy—-is going back to school (UW) to become a bilingual trainer. He doesn’t know what’s going in the space; a Turkish restaurant was a possibility recently, but that deal fell through. Known for his hand-lettered window signage, Choy came up with two classics for his grand finale:
