I figure since my column this week both loves and criticizes Venik Lounge, I should apprise you of the new fall/winter menu. I’m excited because they added PIEROGI! It’s one of my favorite dishes, but it’s always had pitiful representation in this town. Not fancy enough, I guess. Or maybe Seattle isn’t Polish enough? Pierogi are fried potato and onion filled dough pockets. I won’t modify that sentence with adjectives. There is no need. Venik also debuted a fig infusion; and from three separate reports, I hear their new pumpkin infusion is off the charts.Venik Lounge, 227 9th Avenue N., open Tue-Sat, 4pm to midnight.
