I enjoyed a very fine dinner at Barolo Ristorante, with several courses of delicate pasta, a lovely tuna tartare, fennel-decorated salad, and the softest mascarpone cheesecake I’ve ever tasted, served with a delicious balsamic reduction. This new Italian restauant on Westlake, run by the Varchetta brothers of Mamma Melina fame, is a promising dining spot, with carefully crafted cuisine and an elegant atmosphere.
