Residents of the Capitol Hill neighborhood have a reason to celebrate and to eat a little healthier, because starting in May of 2005 there’s a new market in town . . . the Sunday Broadway/Capitol Hill farmers market! No more traveling to distant areas of the Seattle metropolitan area for locally grown tomatoes or crisp green beans; Hill-ers will be able to enjoy delicious market delicacies in their own neighborhood, right behind the Bank of America building on the corner of Broadway Avenue and East Thomas Street. Of course, the market will offer huge amounts of fresh organic fruits and vegetables and an amazing variety of herbs and dairy products, with over 70 farmers and food vendors. Sounds like the latest addition to the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance is bound to be a success thanks to the hard work and determination of the NFMA, the Capitol Hill Community Council and others in the community.
