Here's a few ideas for your weekend eating and drinking around town.
Get your Snackdown. In a big upset, Bainbridge, Vashon and Bremerton joined forces to take home the gold in 2012's Neighborhood Snackdown competition. Tonight's the night for the well-deserved victory party at Pegasus Coffee on Bainbridge at 131 Parfitt Way SW. Free food and drink samples will be handed out from island-based businesses, including Baywater Shellfish Farms and Bainbridge Island Brewing Company. Click here for more details.
Eat at Ocho. The little corner tapas bar at 2325 NW Market St. in Ballard bounced right back after a car plowed through the outdoor patio last Tuesday. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the sangria is flowing as usual.
Pig out. Today's National Pig Day. To celebrate, local food trucks Pinky's Kitchen and Happy Grillmore are serving pork dishes spiked with Maker's Mark Bourbon all the day long. Check each truck's Twitter feed for location details.
It's hard to keep track of the slew of new area eateries and watering holes opening their doors every week. Serving house-made pizza, cured meats and craft cocktails, the just-opened Anchovies & Olives neighbor at 1546 15th Ave. is worth adding to your "to try" list.
