Play bocce. Von Trapp's, the Bavarian "bier hall" at 912 12th Ave. is a Chuck E. Cheese's for hipsters: Five bocce courts take the place of ball pits, brats replace sausage pizza, and Viennese chandeliers hang instead of track lighting. Proust!

Bid adieu to Showa. Sadly, you only have two weekends left to eat at Japanese snack bar Showa at 701 N. 36th St. Owners Taichi Kitamura and Steve Tamura confirmed the sale via Facebook. The duo plans to focus on their other restaurant: Eastlake's Sushi Kappo Tamura. Showa officially closes Feburary 24, so now is the time to wish fond farewells to staff--and eat a bowl of steamy kotteri ramen.

Say this name ten times fast: Von's 1000SPIRITS GustoBistro opens today at 1225 1st Ave. The modern, bright new location is a 180 from Von's previous, well-worn digs at 601 Pine St. Some nice pictures of the space are over on Eater.
