After more than a year-long displacement from its former Ballard Ave. home, beloved Thai restaurant Thaiku and a more intimate version of its adjoining apothecary bar Fu Kun Wu are open in new Phinney Ridge digs at 6705 Greenwood Ave. N.

Mai (or new) Thaiku General Manager Unchalee "O" Ayucharoen says, "Our food is fresh and light, nothing is deep-fried." Just-revealed family recipes from Thailand appear on the updated menu alongside old standbys like khao soi and Crying Tiger beef. Featuring seven riffs on green papaya salad, the menu includes more fruit and veg than your typical Thai joint. Happy hour and weekend lunch launch next week.

On a sour note, the Ravenna Blog reports that after more than a decade of serving pasta and meatballs, Ravenna's disarmingly likeable Casa D'Italia at 2615 NE 65th St. quietly closed February 16. The location is currently for lease.
